Poetic Myth, Heroic Legend, ancient lore and modern archeological evidence reveals a magical belief system rife with runic inscriptions intended to bewitch the heart and enchant the eye; rituals designed to captivate and compel a lover; mysterious and vengeful anaphrodisiac (anti-love) charms from the Sagas; and recipes for philtres and potions to set the fires of love and lust ablaze. Join Blåkulla Hall, regional Hall of the Rune Gild in Los Angeles, for an evening workshop focusing on this this stimulating area of traditional Germanic magic! We’ll look closely at historical and mythic traditions of erotic sorcery, examine their traditional cultural and ethical contexts, and their connections to the secret teachings of a number of contemporary occult orders. We’ll examine a variety of love charms, omens, and rituals drawn from folk tradition, and from textual sources like the 16th century galdrabækur, or “books of magic.” Sometimes racy, sometimes ridiculous... Often forbidden, but always fascinating! Bring a notebook and an open mind, and come explore the history and mystery of Erotic Magic in the Germanic Tradition! This class is open to all with a serious interest in pragmatic magical arts and the Northern Mysteries. Blåkulla Hall was founded in 2006 c.e. to address the growing need for an active Rune-Gild presence in Southern California.  In light of the ever-increasing interest in Traditional forms of Northern European magic and pre-Christian religion, our organization seeks to ensure that this thirst for authentic knowledge of the Northern Mysteries be answered with the best of esoteric and academic resources.We offer ongoing instruction in Esoteric Rune Work, as well as specialized intensive workshops and seminars dedicated to specific aspects of the Northern Renaissance and traditional Germanic Magic and Religion.  Some of these classes and events are open to the public, and serve as a way to introduce the world at large to the ways and work of the Rune-Gild.

Blåkulla Hall is dedicated to the promotion of authentic traditional Germanic religious and mystical practice untainted by racism, prejudice, or hatred.
